The Biomimicry Experts for Sustainability Teaching project, a 3-year project funded by the European Union, is fully underway now. The project envisions developing a cohort of biomimicry expert teachers in several European countries, teachers who are actively championing biomimicry within STEM subjects, inspiring pupils with solution-focused learning for a sustainable future, and sharing their good practices to new teachers. To that end, The Center for Learning With Nature and BioLearn organization partners from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Turkey, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic have designed a training about Nature-enriched school teaching (including biomimicry) for primary and secondary teachers across Europe. Project partners have begun their first trainings, with an initial cohort of several hundred teachers across the partner countries. The response from teachers has been excellent: “BioLearn really gives us hope.”
